This one-week Morocco tour offers an unforgettable 7-day journey through the country’s breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The itinerary also includes a full-day tour of Fes, guided by a local expert who will unveil the city’s deep history and culture. The journey continues to Chefchaouen, the “Blue Pearl” of Morocco, and stops at Volubilis, the ancient Roman site. The trip ends in Casablanca, where your driver will either drop you off at your accommodation or take you to the airport. Upon your arrival in Marrakech, you will be warmly greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel or riad. On the first day of our One Week in Morocco from Marrakech, you’ll enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Marrakech, Morocco’s tourism capital, also known as the Red City.
Your local guide will escort you to explore iconic landmarks such as the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque, the beautiful Bahia Palace, the tranquil Majorelle Garden, and the historic Old Medina of Marrakech. You’ll then wander through the narrow streets of the bustling souks, eventually reaching Jamaa El-Fna Square. This vibrant market square in the heart of the old quarter is alive with storytellers, magicians, food vendors, and snake charmers, offering an unforgettable cultural experience. Night in Marrakech.
The following morning of our week-long journey in Morocco, we will depart from Marrakech around 08:00 am and head toward the High Atlas Mountains. The route is a winding path that offers a breathtaking and remarkable journey through lush valleys and traditional Berber villages, eventually leading to Morocco’s highest mountain pass, Tizi N’Tichka, at an elevation of 2,260 meters. We will pause for some photos, capturing the stunning panoramic views and picturesque Berber villages.
Next, we will continue our trip to explore the renowned filming location, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. This ancient Kasbah has been the backdrop for numerous international films and was once a key fortress along the ancient Salt Road, where caravans transported valuable goods, including gold, slaves, ivory, and salt, from distant lands to Moroccan cities.
Our 7-day adventure from Marrakech proceeds toward the city of Ouarzazate, home to several film studios and often referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa.” As we journey southeast toward the land of a thousand kasbahs, the landscape gradually transforms, passing through Berber villages and towns, eventually arriving at the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night.
Today after your breakfast, we leave the Dades Valley and continue our 7 days tour from Marrakech towards the road that takes us to the Todra Gorge along the Dades Valley; which is considered the favorite and most impressive canyon by international rock climbers. Then stroll to the great Todra Gorge through the oasis, in that place, you will see a very deep crevasse in the orange limestone that provide amazing views. After that, we head towards the Sahara via the south, you will see a lot of attractions like a beautiful oasis, palm groves, landscapes, old ruins and adobe kasbahs, and the relics of dinosaurs. On the way, we will stop for lunch.
Then we continue to the city of fossils Erfoud as it was an ocean before, many fossils and minerals are found in the area and worked into beautiful pieces of furniture and decorative materials. The end of our route today is the sea of sand, and your camel will be waiting in the Erg Chebbi dunes to take you to your desert camp across the high golden dunes of the Moroccan Sahara. You will have the opportunity to watch the sunset and enjoy sandboarding. You will be amazed at the view of the stars above you, then, before you retire to your tent, your dinner will be served and local traditional music will be played to enjoy the quiet weather.
For today, you’ll wake up in the early morning to see and enjoy the sunrise view of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga over the highest dunes which is considered one of the great moments of the desert, thereafter, you are going to have breakfast in the camp, after you finish packing you have the choice to go back either on camels or by the 4×4 car, leaving the dunes behind to start the journey to Fes. We will drive to Fes via Ziz Valley, we will stop to enjoy the panoramic view of Ziz valley.
Afterward, we continue our trip till we stop for a break for lunch in Midelt or Zaida before we continue our journey to Azrou or Michlifen to see the Barbary macaque and the cedar forest. Afterward, we will continue to Fes through Ifrane, Ifrane is a town in Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains. It’s known for its alpine-style architecture and nearby ski slopes and forests. A stone statue of a lion near leafy Parc la Prairie is a well-known landmark.
Today, we will explore the historic and culturally significant sights of Fez, one of the oldest spiritual and cultural cities in the world. Founded in 790 A.D. by Moulay Idriss II, Fez is home to a wealth of fascinating landmarks. A local guide will accompany you as you visit major attractions, including Al-Qarawiyyin University (the world’s first university), Bou Inania Madrasa (a theological college), the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), lively plazas, Andalusian neighborhoods, pottery workshops, museums, traditional Souks (markets), the impressive Tanneries, and Bab Boujloud.
Lunch will be served at a traditional Moroccan restaurant in the heart of the Old Medina (Fes El-Bali). Fez is renowned as Morocco’s artisan capital. Your full-day tour will also offer a chance to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Old Medina. After the tour, we will return you to your accommodation in Fez for the night.
After breakfast at your hotel or riad in Fes, our journey will take us to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, an open-air museum, and a fascinating glimpse into Morocco’s ancient history. While Volubilis may not be as grand as other Roman sites along the Mediterranean, it offers a relaxed and insightful way to visualize a significant part of Moroccan heritage.
We will then continue through the scenic Rif Mountains, passing lush agricultural hills, on our way to Chefchaouen. Known worldwide for its vibrant blue-washed buildings, Chefchaouen is a favorite destination for both locals and tourists, especially during the warmer summer months.
By evening, we’ll arrive in Chefchaouen, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the beautiful streets of the medina, with its white and blue-washed walls, and explore local markets offering unique, native handcrafts. Today, we’ll start our day early, capturing photos of the empty streets before venturing into the stunning town of Chefchaouen, Morocco’s most iconic tourist destination. Much quieter and more peaceful than Fes, Chefchaouen is globally famous and attracts both tourists and locals, particularly during the hot summer months. The town is renowned for its vibrant blue-painted houses that infuse the streets with life.
Our journey will then lead us through Rabat, the former imperial capital, known for its domed structures, minarets, expansive terraces, broad streets, and lush green spaces. As the capital of Morocco, Rabat is home to the country’s most significant museum, the Royal Palace, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, among other historical landmarks. While in Rabat, we will visit the Oudaias Kasbah, marvel at Hassan Tower, explore the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and stroll through the Medina.
Next, we will head to Casablanca. In this bustling city, you can explore the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques globally. Positioned magnificently by the Atlantic Ocean, it stands as one of Africa’s most stunning mosques, adorned with exquisite Moroccan mosaics. Our 7-day Morocco tour will end in Casablanca.
