On the way to Marrakech, you’ll pass through the Todra and Dades gorges, the Roses Valley, and several Berber villages, stopping along the way to enjoy panoramic views. The excitement of your personalized tour begins when you first start planning your trip, even before you land in the Casablanca airport. It will only start to feel real when you walk out of the airport and see your English speaking driver, you soon-to-be friend, smiling at you. The drivers are part of what makes Inner Morocco different…they are always said to be one of the best parts of the experience because they help you see the real Morocco.
Imagine yourself walking out of the airport and seeing palm trees and Moroccan flags…
Your driver will take you to your hotel. As soon as you feel settled, if time permits, your driver will take you to Hassan II, one of the largest mosques in the world. Loaded with religious and historical significance, it will awe you with its sheer size and incredible architecture. You’ll be able to see the painstakingly designed interior during your guided tour. The mosque is right on the water, and it has glass flooring in one section so visitors and worshippers can see the beauty of the Atlantic below. Smell the salty ocean air as you step out again to take a picture of the exquisite minaret.

Your guide might explain this…every neighborhood has a bakery and fountain. Your guide will take you to the weavers, where you’ll watch them create beautiful cloth in front of your eyes. After a morning of exploration, you’ll be ready to sit down for lunch at one of the best restaurants in the medina. You’ll continue to understand the obsession with Moroccan food as you eat a tasty main meal of tagine or couscous and finish off with some fresh seasonal fruit for desert.
Finish your tour in the afternoon, and then head back to relax at your hotel or riad.
After breakfast at your accommodation in Fes, we head southeast, passing through the charming city of Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and continue through the Cedar Forest, Morocco’s largest woodland, home to wild Barbary macaques. Our journey takes us toward the Mid-Atlas Mountains, where we’ll stop for lunch in either Midelt or Er-Rich before proceeding along the scenic Tizi N’Taghamt pass and through the stunning Ziz Valley, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the landscape.
We continue our adventure toward Erfoud, known for its date festival and fossil production, before reaching the vast sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here, we’ll leave the car behind and embark on a thrilling camel trek across the golden dunes, with a chance to catch a stunning sunset from atop a high dune. Afterward, we head to the desert camp, where a delicious dinner awaits. Relax under the stars, enjoy Berber music performed by local nomads around a campfire, and if you’re in the mood, join in the dance. The starry sky will leave you in awe before retiring to your tent for the night.
You’ll start the day early to witness the stunning sunrise over the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, as the first light reflects off the vast sea of sand. After this unforgettable experience, head back to your desert camp for a refreshing shower and a delicious breakfast. Once you’re fueled up, you’ll ride back to the camel departure point and prepare for the next leg of your desert adventure, leaving behind the expansive desert to journey toward the historic city of Rissani. If you’re there on a market day (Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays), you’ll have the chance to explore the largest souk in the region.
From Rissani, the journey takes you to Erfoud, the Fossil Town, before heading towards the Dades Valley. Along the way, you’ll pass picturesque villages like Jorf, Tinjdad, and Tinghir, before reaching Todra Valley, a lush oasis nestled among mud villages and towering mountains. After a short drive, you’ll arrive at Todra Gorges, with its dramatic cliffs that rise 300 meters, a favorite spot for climbers. Continuing on, you’ll explore the Dades Valley, home to striking sand castles, “monkey fingers” rock formations, and beautiful mud kasbahs, where you’ll spend the night in a peaceful setting.
Today, we will depart from Dades Gorges and make our way to Marrakech. Along the renowned Road of Thousand Kasbahs, we will stop at Kalaat M’Gouna, also known as the Valley of Roses. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore local cooperatives and shops selling rose-based products. The valley is home to the annual Rose Festival each May, which celebrates the region’s rich tradition of rose cultivation.
Our journey continues with a visit to Skoura (time permitting, we will stop at Amridil Kasbah) and Ouarzazate, where we will explore the famous Atlas Studios, often referred to as the Hollywood of Africa, a popular filming location for many films. Next, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, a historic kasbah once crucial for desert caravans and now a popular spot for international films. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will cross the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, offering stunning views of valleys, mountains, and traditional Berber villages, before arriving in Marrakech by evening for an overnight stay.
Today you will drive to Marrakech, a city that should be on every traveler’s bucket list. Pause your journey to view Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a massive red clay fortification. This group of buildings was named an UNESCO World Heritage site because of its stunning display of southern Moroccan architecture. You might feel as if you have stepped into a movie—a valid sentiment as Ouarzazate is considered the “film capital of Morocco” and has been used as a set for many movies. Re-enter Moroccan city life as you drive into Marrakech and find yourself surrounded by action again. Make your way to the famous Djemaa el-Fna, one of the center attractions of Marrakech. Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbeque pits, the square is well worth a visit.
Imagine hearing the clanking brass of the water-seller adorned with colorful tassels…you smell spices as you wander through the stalls…
If you want a break from being caught up in the energy, a quiet cup of tea on the terrace of an adjacent café provides a spectacular aerial view of the bustling square.
Today, depending on your flight departure time, we will transport you to the airport for your return journey. This concludes our services for the 10-day Morocco tour from Casablanca.
